The relative maximum of a function

So the title had to do with a combination of me being into a calc trance and also the great feeling of loving life. I've established that life is a series of ups and downs, and right now I'm feeling I'm on an "up." It's so pleasurable to know that although high school is really ending, it's not a definite goodbye. We're simply parting with those we love to pursue higher and varying goals. Once you accept the fact that the past is, well, the past, you seem so blessed to have gotten where you are safely. Hopefully nothing horribly tragic has happened within the four years and regretting is a worthless thought that can either way not be retraced. All you can do is look ahead and hope for the best. While destiny (and God some may argue) are responsible for the roller coaster you're about to experience, reaction really is the most of it. Make life more enjoyable: not just for yourself but more importantly for others around you. Happiness will only flow in like rich wine when you follow this simple concept.

Life is great.

Epiphany

This one is real!

So today one of the most tragic things happened. My house was robbed. But anyway, to the point of this post. I realized that my mom's money hiding place was flipped inside out. Though I wasn't too worried about the jewelry and handbags that were stolen (and luckily none of the laptops/computers), I knew my mom was saving cash in an absurd range. Now, this made me extremely worried, but I proceeded to work. I got a call from my dad saying that my mom had, just a few days prior, left the money elsewhere and forgot to put it back in the proper spot. Now either this was a stroke of luck or a higher being was trying to teach me a very valuable lesson. 1) Money should not be scoffed at, as I sometimes take for granted. 2) Some do not work nearly as hard to get what they want. The burglars probably don't know what it means to work up a sweat. This got me thinking, and I can be compared in a similar context as the burglar. I get free money without having to work so hard and in return my parents bear all the burden (as represented in a tax on a perfectly elastic demand curve). I am, in a way, undeserving and learned my lesson the really hard way. My alertness on money has risen and my comfortable life will be more appreciated. Too bad for my mom though. =T My next paycheck shall be devoted to buying her a piece of decent jewelry.

"Where do I get my ideas from? You might as well have asked that of Beethoven. He was goofing around in Germany like everybody else, and all of a sudden this stuff came gushing out of him. It was music. I was goofing around like everybody else in Indiana, and all of a sudden stuff came gushing out. It was disgust with civilization.

Flying Dutchman

Hey kid, I've got a ride for you.
They say, your brain is a comic book tatoo
And you'll never be anything.
What will you do with your life, oh,
That's all you hear from noon till night.

Take a trip on a rocket ship, baby, where the sea is the sky.
I know the guy who runs the place and he's out of sight.
Flying Dutchman are you out there?
Flying Dutchman are you out there, Flying Dutchman?

Straight suits, they don't understand.
She tried that one with the alligator boots but the other side drew her in.
Heart falling fast when she left, even the Milky Way was dressed in black.

Take a trip on a rocket ship, baby, where the sea is the sky.
I know the guy who runs the place and he's out of sight.
Flying Dutchman are you out there?
Flying Dutchman are you out there, Flying Dutchman?

'Cause they can't see what you're born to be.
They can see me.
They can't be
What they can't believe.
They can see what you see.

They keep the boys spinning in their own little world.
Tie him up so he won't say a word.
They keep the boys spinning in their own little world.
So afraid he'll be what they never were.

Wow how inspirational. Look at the facial expressions when they sing their hearts out. Absolutely beautiful.
